Tuesday and life is good

I am off work on most Tuesdays and Thursdays. Even though this part time schedule can put a strain on my budget, I am relishing the time available to just rest and "be." I can clearly remember jobs with frantic schedules when I would dearly wish for just one friggin' day off. So here it is ... finally a lifestyle with days off. I have lots of plans for these days off ... but I am still just enjoying doing anything or nothing. I just wake up and play it by ear. Today I may or may not go to the bank to deposit a gift check from a friend. Today I did the laundry and felt a sense of accomplishment. Today I pulled out a box of jewelry I plan to sell on e-bay ... one step closer to that future plan. Today I am catching up on some television programs recorded on DVR. Today is Tuesday and life is good ...

And again, the simple life is good ...

My current job gives me Tuesdays, Thursdays and weekends off. Yes, I have to watch my budget very carefully to get by on these limited hours, but it is well worth the leisure time. I am able to relax and pursue activities that bring me pleasure. I have seen too many friends and relatives work themselves, literally, to death. Therefore, I am happy to exchange a bit of cash for tons of me time. I have finished my chores for the day, next stop: meditation and "chair" yoga. I hope your day is as rewarding.

Almost Summer ...

Time goes by so quickly. It will soon be June and, to me, it seems like it was just Christmas. It is my belief that I am living a full and wonderfully event filled life, so the days pass quickly. I am also engaged in right livelihood which always makes a day happy and fulfilling. My life is about the journey, not the destination ... Yet I do have some lovely destinations in sight.

Herstory

I have spent a lot of my free time in the past few months by scanning and archiving many old negatives, slides and pictures. Part of the time has been spent with photo albums. Even though I was aware, now I am AWARE that my mother wrote tons of little quips, quotes and descriptions. I will be reading and archiving them next. I also found all of the information, military record and photo album with WWII souvenirs of Ellis F. Bennett. All of this has been helping my ancestry work, too. It's pretty amazing to look back from a place of happiness and gratitude. Sitting here watching ..

It is Sunday afternoon and I find myself sitting here on the couch watching television, and the hummingbirds at the feeder, and my tribute candles burning. Quite peaceful and enjoyable. Soon I will enjoy a few moments in my garden with the roses. I never thought I would be one of those ladies that grows roses and yet, here I am and it is just a fine life.
