It appears that the only reader of this blog is me. LOL. However, I will continue to write, if for nothing else but a form of internal therapy. 2018 has been an emotional ride for me, especially in coming to grips with turning 65. Mid year, I began the process of acquiring a reverse mortgage so that I can free myself from a huge monthly bill. A series of twists and turn involving my condo association added frustration and worry, but those hurdles are behind me and the final process should be concluded by the end of November. Sigh of relief inserted here. I signed up for Medicare and chose Kaiser Permanente, which has proven to be a great choice for the health care I need as a diabetic. In March of this year, I blew my non-existent budget and attended Wondercon, allowing myself to dress in costumes and generally act as a kid again. I plan to do it again in 2019, again with a non-existent budget. One thing I learned from watching my father pass away before he could enjoy his retirement is that time waits for no one, and you can't take it with you. Yes, I am wise enough to keep aside emergency back up money ... but my first priority is to enjoy life on a day to day basis while preparing for a happy future. Onward into an unsure but highly anticipated 2019.

2018

It's been a good year, it's been a bad year. It is not over and I have some hurdles to sail over before it does end. Obtaining a reverse mortgage to secure my home. Signing up for Medicare to secure my health. Enjoying right livelihood with a boss who is a friend, doing work of value. Crafting my world with intelligence and integrity. I own and honor every day of my soon to be 65 years old.Oh, and I love Hamilton the Musical, playing World of Warcraft and lazing at home on my days off.

How's life by you?
